Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how JR Strength and Fitness LLC, doing business as Built For Her collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use the Built For Her Platform. It applies to our U.S.-facing website, member application (including the Built For Her apps distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store), coaching services, community, Academy, and related communications unless a separate notice expressly applies.
This policy is intended to describe actual production practices. Features that are only planned, including wearable integrations, are identified as planned and are not represented as current data sources.
2. Categories of Information We Collect
Account and identity information
Name, email address, account identifiers, profile information, authentication-related records, subscription tier, account status, and information you provide to create or manage an account. Password credentials are handled through our authentication infrastructure and are not intended to be visible to Built For Her personnel in plaintext.
Fitness, readiness, body, nutrition, and progress information
Intake questionnaire responses; goals; training experience; readiness and check-in responses; workout sessions, exercises, sets, repetitions, loads, effort ratings and other training records; body measurements and body-composition entries; nutrition targets and meal or nutrition logs; Standards completion; achievements; progress metrics; and related fitness/wellness information.
Some information may reveal or relate to physical health conditions or other legally sensitive information depending on what you submit. Where applicable law requires consent to process legally defined sensitive data, Built For Her will obtain the required consent before that processing.
Coaching and communications information
Messages with a coach, check-in responses, coaching notes, support communications, and other information you provide in connection with coaching.
Progress photographs and uploaded media
Photographs and files you choose to upload, including progress photographs, coaching-review videos, and documents such as body-composition scan images. Progress photographs are treated as private account content by default and are not used for marketing without separate authorization.
Community and user-generated content
Posts, comments, reactions, profile content, reports, and other content you submit to community features.
Billing and transaction information
Subscription plan, billing status, transaction identifiers, charge/refund status, and limited payment-related metadata. If you subscribe on our website, payments are processed by Stripe. If you subscribe in our Android app, payments are processed by Google Play, and we receive the subscription's status, product, order identifier, and renewal dates from Google. In our iPhone app, choosing a membership opens our website's Stripe checkout in Safari; Apple does not process those payments. Built For Her does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
Device, technical, security, and usage information
IP address, browser/device information, timestamps, authentication/session information, security and audit logs, request/error information, and records reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse of the Platform. We also keep first-party marketing measurement records, described in the next section. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking. If that changes, this policy and any required cookie/consent controls will be updated before those tools are activated.
Marketing measurement information
When you first arrive from a tagged campaign link or from another website, we store one first-party cookie recording the campaign tags in the link (such as its source, medium, and campaign name), the name of the website you came from (not the full address of the page), the page you landed on, and the date. If you create an account, we copy that record to your account once. We also record when you reach the steps of signing up: finishing the intake, viewing your program recommendation, starting checkout, and completing checkout, including the plan chosen, whether it started a free trial, and any promotion code used. We use these records only to understand which of our own marketing brings people to Built For Her, to improve our signup process, and to run our referral program as described below. We do not share them with advertising networks. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not set the campaign cookie.
Referral program. If you share your personal invite link and someone creates an account through it, we record that the account came from your link, using the same first-party campaign record described above. If that person subscribes, we use this record to work out whether your referral qualifies and to credit your referral reward. We show you only how many people joined and subscribed through your link, never who they are, and we do not tell the person you invited anything about your account. The Referral Program Terms explain how referrals qualify.
Marketing and preference information
Email subscription preferences, marketing consent or opt-out status, push-notification settings, and records of communications.
Testimonials
If you choose to share a testimonial, we store your words, any photo you add, how you chose to show your name, your program, and the exact permission you gave for each place it may be used. Nothing is published until we review it. You can withdraw at any time from Account → Share your story. It then comes off our website straight away and its photo is deleted, and we remove our own posts and ads that use it within 30 days.
Information from integrations
Wearable, Apple Health, Health Connect, Garmin, Fitbit, or similar integrations are planned but not live. If enabled, Built For Her will disclose the categories collected, permissions requested, purposes, and applicable platform-specific requirements before collecting integration data.
3. Sources of Information
We collect information directly from you; automatically from your device and use of the Platform; from coaches or authorized personnel providing services to you; from payment providers (Stripe and Google Play) and infrastructure providers; and, if you enable future integrations, from the connected service you authorize.
4. How We Use Information
- Create, authenticate, secure, and administer accounts.
- Provide subscriptions, training programs, workout logging, progress tracking, nutrition coaching/education, Academy content, community features, and coaching.
- Personalize training, progression, readiness recommendations, content, and coaching support.
- Process subscriptions, payments, cancellations, refunds, and billing support.
- Communicate about accounts, security, transactions, coaching, product changes, and support.
- Send marketing email where permitted and honor unsubscribe choices.
- Measure which of our own campaigns and links bring people to Built For Her, and how many go on to finish signing up and subscribe, as described in Section 2.
- Run our referral program: work out which referrals qualify and credit referral rewards, as described in Section 2.
- Operate push notifications based on device/app permissions and member settings. In our iPhone app, turning on notifications gives us a device token from Apple that we use only to send the notifications you choose. Turning notifications off stops them, and deleting your account deletes the token.
- Detect fraud, abuse, security threats, and violations of our policies.
- Debug, maintain, analyze, and improve Platform performance, reliability, safety, and member experience.
- Comply with law, legal process, and enforceable requests; establish or defend legal claims.
- Conduct AI-assisted processing described below.
We do not use personal information for materially incompatible secondary purposes without any consent required by applicable law.
5. AI and Automated Processing
Built For Her uses automated systems to support training personalization, readiness adjustments, and program recommendations, and uses AI tools to assist coaches.
Built For Her uses the following AI providers, through their business APIs, to process data on our behalf:
| Provider | Used for | Data sent |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | Reading a body-composition scan image a coach uploads into a draft measurement for the coach to confirm; coach-side assistant features | The scan image; the coaching context needed for the requested task |
| Anthropic | Coach-side drafting of workouts and messages | The member's first name and the training information needed for the draft |
These AI features are used by coaches inside the coach portal; members do not chat with an AI provider in the member app. AI output is a draft that a coach reviews before it reaches you. Built For Her limits the data sent to an AI provider to information reasonably necessary for the task being performed.
Built For Her does not use AI to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects such as employment, credit, housing, insurance, or access to essential services. Fitness and coaching recommendations remain subject to the limitations described in our Terms and Disclaimer.
6. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to service providers and processors that perform services for us, subject to appropriate contractual and security obligations; to authorized coaches/personnel as necessary to provide services; at your direction; in a business transaction; or where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights, investigate abuse, or address safety/security concerns.
We do not sell personal information for money. Built For Her does not sell personal data or use it for third-party targeted advertising. If that practice changes, we will update this policy and implement any notice, consent, or opt-out rights required before beginning the new practice.
7. Service Providers / Processors
We use these service providers to run Built For Her. They process personal information on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and file storage |
| Vercel | Website and app hosting |
| Stripe | Payments for website subscriptions |
| Google (Google Play) | Android app distribution and in-app subscription payments |
| Apple (App Store, Apple Push Notification service) | iPhone app distribution and delivering iPhone app notifications you turn on |
| OpenAI, Anthropic | AI features described in Section 5 |
| Resend | Sending account and service emails |
| Better Stack | Error and security logs |
| Your browser's push service (for example Google, Mozilla, or Apple) | Delivering notifications you turn on |
Food search uses the USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts databases; we send them only the search text or barcode, never your account information.
8. Sensitive Data
Built For Her may process information that applicable law defines as sensitive, including information a member voluntarily provides that reveals a physical health condition or diagnosis. Built For Her will seek affirmative consent when required by applicable law and will provide a method to withdraw consent where required.
Fitness data is not automatically identical to legally defined medical information in every jurisdiction. Built For Her does not represent itself as a HIPAA-covered healthcare provider merely because it processes fitness or wellness information.
9. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active.
When your account is deleted, we delete your profile, sign-in, training, nutrition, progress, coaching, and community records, your records of accepting our legal documents, your marketing measurement records, your testimonials, and your uploaded files (profile photo, progress photos, coaching-review videos, testimonial photos, and documents).
We keep billing and transaction records for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes, and a record that the account was deleted. Error and security logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically. Deleted information is removed from our database backups as those backups expire, within about 7 days.
Stripe and Google keep their own records of payments made through them, under their own privacy policies.
10. Account Deletion and Privacy Requests
You can delete your account yourself in the app: Profile → Privacy & legal → Delete my account. A deletion started in the app is processed right away. You can also follow the steps at https://app.builtforher.io/delete-account or email team@builtforher.io from the email address on your account; for an emailed request we confirm it came from you and delete the account within 30 days.
Deleting your account cancels any website (Stripe) subscription immediately and cancels any Google Play subscription so it does not renew. Cancelling a subscription by itself does not delete your account, and deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Where applicable law provides rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, opt-out, or appeal, we will provide a process to exercise those rights and will verify requests as legally permitted.
11. Oregon and Other State Privacy Rights
State privacy rights vary and may apply based on statutory thresholds, residency, data type, and business practices. Oregon's comprehensive privacy law applies only when statutory applicability criteria are met, but Built For Her intends to maintain clear notices, reasonable security, data minimization, and practical access/deletion controls as baseline practices.
If Built For Her becomes subject to the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act or another comprehensive state privacy law, we will implement the required rights, consent, assessment, opt-out, appeal, universal opt-out, and notice mechanisms applicable to our practices.
12. California and Other Jurisdictions
California and other states provide privacy rights under laws with specific applicability thresholds and definitions. Built For Her will not state that it is subject to a statute unless that determination is accurate. If a law applies, the required supplemental disclosures and rights process will be implemented.
The Platform is offered in the United States. Users should not use the Platform from jurisdictions where its operation or data practices would be unlawful.
13. Security
Built For Her uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls and database authorization mechanisms. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Access to member information is limited according to role and service need. Coaches and personnel must not access member information for unrelated purposes.
14. Marketing Communications
We may send marketing email where permitted by law. Marketing messages will provide an unsubscribe mechanism, and opting out of marketing does not prevent transactional or service communications necessary to administer an account or subscription.
We do not currently send marketing SMS. If SMS is added, separate disclosures and consent mechanisms will be implemented before launch of that channel.
15. Children's Privacy
Built For Her is intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly create accounts for children or minors. If we learn that a minor has provided personal information through an account, we may close the account and take appropriate deletion or retention steps consistent with law.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, providers, features, or practices. We will identify the effective date and provide notice of material changes as required. If a change requires new consent, we will request that consent before the affected processing begins.
